Despite the difficulties and challenges that we all face during the pandemic of Covid-19, I am still happily surprised at the resilience of human beings to not only survive, but thrive and help others. I hope you are all safe.

Many of you are using your talents to bring joy in these uncertain times. One of them is a good friend, talented artist, and fellow Karateka, Kyle Duske of Kumakai Karate, who has created a manga-comic book on the fight between Motobu Choki and the boxer that was featured in the 1925 edition of King Magazine.

Please enjoy it courtesy of Kyle. You can view the manga here.

In closing I’ll quote the words of Dr. Bonnie Henry, “be kind, be calm, and be safe.”
